2Face, also known as 2Baba, recently went viral after an interview in which he implied that even the most devoted man may struggle with complete sexual loyalty.

The remarks sparked widespread debate, particularly because of his long-standing relationship with his wife, Annie Idibia.

In response, I Go Save took to Instagram on Thursday, July 3, 2025, to express concern about how 2Face’s statement might be misunderstood or misused by men who may be tempted to justify poor behaviour in relationships.

The comedian urged men not to romanticise emotional irresponsibility or frame infidelity as an unavoidable weakness of the male gender. Instead, he called for a more introspective and respectful approach to love and commitment.

“No use 2Face happenstance take form strong man for love o!” he wrote in Pidgin, a Nigerian vernacular that resonates with many of his fans.

He added, “E fit even happen to any man: even Incredible Hulk himself. Just pray for grace and mercy always.”

His post quickly gained traction online, with thousands of Nigerians applauding his direct yet humorous message.

For many, it provided a refreshing counter-narrative to a conversation that had become heavily polarised between critics and defenders of 2Face.

2Face’s original statement triggered strong reactions, with some seeing it as a moment of honesty while others called it a harmful stereotype about men.

In the interview, 2Face had said, “Even if a man truly loves a woman, it’s still hard for him to stick to one partner sexually.”

The backlash was swift. Many fans of his wife Annie viewed the comment as a public embarrassment.

Social media platforms were flooded with mixed reactions ranging from condemnation to support.

Cynthia Morgan, another Nigerian artist, even went so far as to demand Annie “free 2Face” and accused her of holding him emotionally hostage. Others, however, sympathised with Annie, saying she had endured too much for the sake of love.

Amid this whirlwind, I Go Save’s intervention stood out for its grounded tone. Known for his humour and wisdom, the comedian struck a balance between understanding human flaws and holding people accountable.

“The reality is that many men will face temptations,” said a fan who commented under the post. “But it’s important not to glorify it or make it seem like it’s okay. I Go Save spoke truthfully.”

Though 2Face has yet to issue further clarification about the backlash, his team has not denied the authenticity of the clip. For now, the media storm continues, and the Idibia family finds themselves once again under the public spotlight.

In Nigeria’s vibrant celebrity culture, relationship drama often trends faster than music hits. But this incident has sparked a deeper national conversation on love, loyalty and what it means to stay faithful in the modern world.

I Go Save may be known for cracking ribs, but this time, his words have carried weight beyond laughter. In a country where celebrity influence runs deep, his call for emotional responsibility has resonated.
