Adekunle Gold says he avoids trouble and walks away from conflict, stressing his preference for peace of mind over unnecessary drama

Nigerian singer Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has spoken candidly about his deliberate decision to avoid trouble and conflict in his daily life.

In a video shared on X on Thursday, the Orente crooner said he prioritises peace of mind over unnecessary drama, stressing that he prefers to stay far from confrontations.

“Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. In fact, I don’t want to be near it, I just want to live,” the singer said.

Adekunle Gold explained that his approach is rooted in self-awareness, noting that he chooses silence and distance whenever a situation begins to escalate.

“Me, I know myself. My mouth is not good at all. Anybody that knows me, my mouth is not good. So, I don’t even want to say anything out of regret, so I’d rather just step away,” he admitted.

The singer clarified that avoiding conflict should not be mistaken for weakness or fear, emphasising that walking away is sometimes the wiser option.

He also questioned why some people actively seek confrontation rather than peace.

“What is your mind like? Why do you not like peace? Why do you not like peace of mind? Why don’t you just walk away?” he asked.
