AMVCA 2026 Full List of Winners Revealed revealed as Africa’s top film and TV talents are honoured at a glamorous Lagos ceremony at Eko Hotel

The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards took place on Saturday night at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, bringing together Africa’s biggest names in film, television, and digital storytelling for a glittering celebration of creative excellence.

The star-studded ceremony recognised outstanding performances across multiple categories, with the AMVCA 2026 winners list reflecting a competitive year in African cinema and television production.

Among the major acting honours, Bucci Franklin emerged as Best Supporting Actor for To Kill A Monkey, while Linda Ejiofor clinched Best Supporting Actress for The Herd.

In the lead acting categories, Uzor Arukwe won Best Lead Actor for Colours of Fire, and Linda Ejiofor also secured Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift.

The night’s biggest prize, Best Overall Movie, went to My Father’s Shadow, marking a standout moment in an evening filled with emotional speeches and standing ovations.

The winner for 2026 AMVCA,  also included recognition for directing excellence, with Akinola Davies Jr. winning Best Director for My Father’s Shadow, a film widely praised for its storytelling depth and visual strength.

In the digital and television categories, Emmanuel Kanaga and Sophia Chisom won Best Digital Content Creator, while Nigerian Idol Season 10 claimed Best Unscripted M-Net Original.

The ceremony also highlighted continental diversity, with Lisabi: A Legend Is Born winning Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), while Addis Fikir triumphed in East Africa and Tlhaho Ya Mosadi led in Southern Africa.

Technical categories saw strong competition, with Daniel Anyiam winning Best Editing for To Kill A Monkey, and Pius Fatoke alongside CJ Mirra securing Best Sound Design for My Father’s Shadow. Jermaine Edwards was also honoured for Best Cinematography for the same film.

lists of the winner AMVCA 2026 further featured special recognition awards, with veteran actress Sola Sobowale receiving the Industry Merit Award, alongside legendary actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, in a moment that drew powerful applause from the audience.

Rising talent Uche Montana also received the Trailblazer Award, highlighting the industry’s commitment to nurturing new voices in African entertainment.
