AY Comedian Apologises for Disrupted UK Show, Seeks Refunds

AY Comedian UK show disruption in Cardiff prompts an apology from Ayo Makun, who calls for clear refund arrangements for affected fans

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY Comedian, has apologised to fans following the disruption of his Cardiff comedy show in Wales, attributing the failure to deliver the advertised performances to unresolved payment commitments.

The show, part of his “AY Live: Single and Not Searching” UK tour, was scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Valegate Retail Park in Cardiff.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, October 26, AY said he and other comedians travelled to the venue and eventually gained entry but could not perform before most of the audience left.

“My fellow comedians and I travelled to Cardiff to perform and eventually entered the venue. Unfortunately, unresolved payment commitments delayed our appearance, and by the time we arrived at the hall, most of the audience had left,” he said.

The comedian apologised to those who attended, acknowledging that they deserved better event organisation and timely communication about the disruption.

“You deserved a properly organised show and timely information. You should never have been caught in the middle of a payment dispute,” he stated.

AY also urged fans to watch a video in which he explained his account of the incident before reaching conclusions about what happened.

He called on the event organisers and the UK tour management to provide a clear resolution for affected ticket holders, including details of how they could obtain refunds.

“I am calling on the organisers and our UK tour management to provide a clear resolution for ticket holders, including refund information,” he said, adding that verified updates would be shared through his official channels.

The disruption reportedly triggered complaints from attendees on social media, with accounts of prolonged waiting and confusion at the venue.

As of Monday, the organisers had not publicly explained the circumstances surrounding the incident or announced refund arrangements, leaving affected customers awaiting further information.

AY’s statement placed the issue of unresolved payments at the centre of his explanation, but details of the dispute and the respective responsibilities of the parties involved had not been fully established publicly.

Despite the setback in Cardiff, the comedian said the remaining dates on his UK tour were still scheduled to proceed.

The upcoming performances were billed for Birmingham on October 30, London on October 31 and Manchester on November 1.

AY also thanked supporters for helping build his career over more than two decades, reiterating his commitment to maintaining their trust.

The next steps for affected ticket holders will depend on the response from the organisers and tour management, particularly any formal announcement outlining refund eligibility and the process for claiming payments.
