Nigerian singer and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has penned a heartfelt tribute to media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, celebrating his remarkable journey from reality TV obscurity to African media stardom.

“Don’t just think fashion, fame, or fortune. Think resilience,” Banky W wrote. “He didn’t win the show, but he won in life.”

He recounted Ebuka’s humble beginnings as a contestant on the debut season of Big Brother Nigeria, where he finished eighth, and traced his ascent through hosting Rubbing Minds, writing for newspapers, earning a master’s degree, and becoming the face of BBNaija and an icon in the African media space.

Using a biblical reference, Banky W likened Ebuka’s journey to the miracle of turning water into wine—an outcome that required faith, patience, and unseen effort.
