Barry Big Brother Naija finale place is sealed after the Week 8 HOH win, with 11 housemates now facing a public vote that closes Thursday

Muudumbari “Barry” Pop-Yornwin became the first housemate booked for the Barry Big Brother Naija finale on the Season 11 show Show Ya Sef after winning the Week 8 Head of House task.

The fashion designer and civil engineer, 26, from Abuja, also took immunity and Ultimate Veto Power as the house entered its late stretch.

He beat Keivo in the final round of the arena contest, then chose Keivo as Loft Mate for the executive suite. Twelve eligible housemates were then told to pitch to him, two minutes each in most accounts, on why they should stay.

Barry used the veto to spare Amyr “Aikou” Yousufzai, a 25-year-old teacher and web developer also listed from Abuja.

That left 11 names on the eviction slate: Chimsom Chuka, Tram, Temi Nkem, Keivo, Ricky, Sheba, Yusuf, Bells, Flora, Oyin and Bluethopia.

The public vote runs on the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps and the Africa Magic website until 9pm on Thursday, 17 September 2026. The show airs on DStv channel 198 and GOtv channel 49.

Aikou’s rescue has extra heat because he and Flora Egbedi spent weeks as “Gambit” agents with finale immunity but no shot at the money.

Viewers later voted them back into the main game, which stripped that shield. Saving him now is a strategic kindness, or a target painted on both men, depending on who is watching.

Season 11 is chasing a ₦160 million grand prize. Eleven people had already left before this round. Head of House weeks usually rearrange furniture and nominations.

This one rearranged the finish line. Barry no longer needs the public to keep him in the house. Everyone else still does.

Reality formats sell that twist as drama. It is also a reminder that a single task can outweigh weeks of diary-room labour.

The remaining field must now win tasks of their own or survive Thursday’s numbers. Until another finalist is named, the only locked seat belongs to Barry.
