BBNaija Flora opens up about celebrity pressure, saying she has no car or house and urging fans to stop judging her lifestyle
Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Flora has spoken about the pressure of celebrity life, urging fans to stop judging her appearance and financial situation simply because she participated in the reality television show.
The reality TV personality made the remarks during a live session, explaining that she does not yet enjoy the luxurious lifestyle some people associate with celebrities.
Flora said she was concerned that Nigerians might take photographs of her in public wearing ordinary clothes and use the images to suggest that she was struggling financially.
She appealed to fans to allow her to grow into her new status in the entertainment industry without placing unrealistic expectations on her.
“I dey warn una now, I no follow una do celebrity life oo. So I won’t be walking one day on the road with my black trouser, and you people will take picture of me that this girl is suffering. I beg you all in the name of God,” she said.
Flora explained that she had not yet achieved the level of financial success that some people expect from reality TV stars.
According to her, she does not own a car or a house and does not want fans to assume that appearing on Big Brother Naija automatically means she is living an extravagant life.
“I don’t have a car or house. I no follow una dey live big girl life. Even the photoshoots, I’m already tired. I no wan hear say this girl been dey do big girl for the house. Na so I dey for real life oo. You all should wait for me to get to that level first,” she said.
The housemate also expressed frustration with the pressure to maintain a glamorous public image, adding that even the photoshoots associated with celebrity life had become exhausting.
She urged Nigerians to understand that public recognition does not necessarily translate into immediate financial stability or luxury.
Flora further described the transition into the entertainment industry as overwhelming, saying she was still adjusting to the expectations that came with being recognised by the public.
She questioned why people would automatically expect her lifestyle to change dramatically simply because she had appeared on the popular reality show.
“Before I go dey waka for road, and they go come snap me say this girl go Big Brother, and so? Celebrity life no easy. No be me sing am. Who don dey since, he talk am say e no easy. I just dey enter the celebrity life, and I don tire,” she added.
Her comments reflect her concerns about the gap between the glamorous image often associated with celebrities and the realities of building a career in entertainment.
Participation in Big Brother Naija can bring contestants greater public visibility, but Flora’s remarks highlight the expectations that may accompany that recognition.
She stressed that fans should not judge her financial circumstances based on her appearance or assume that she should already be living a luxurious lifestyle.
The reality TV star also asked people to allow her time to work towards her personal and professional goals without turning ordinary public appearances into occasions for ridicule.
Her comments have drawn attention to the pressures reality TV personalities can face after leaving the show, particularly the expectation to project wealth and glamour while establishing themselves in the entertainment industry.
