Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi has shared the touching reaction of her husband, actor Stan Nze, after she received a higher movie paycheck than him during the early stages of their relationship, revealing that he responded with encouragement and prayers rather than disappointment.

Obasi recalled the moment during an interview on Morayo Afolabi’s YouTube show, where she spoke about her career journey and the support system that helped her grow in the Nigerian film industry.

The actress said she was thrilled in 2017 when she was offered ₦600,000 for her role in the movie Castle and Castle. Excited by the opportunity, she immediately shared the news with Stan Nze, who was her boyfriend at the time.

According to Obasi, Nze’s reaction showed genuine support and confidence in her abilities, even though he was earning less from acting at the time.

“In 2017, the owners of Castle and Castle movie offered me 600k as my pay, and I was so excited,” she said.

“When I told my husband, who was still my boyfriend at the time, he looked at me, held my hands, prayed for me and told me I am a star and this is just the beginning.”

Obasi explained that Nze’s highest earnings for a role at that period were around ₦100,000, meaning her new payment was significantly higher.

However, she said he celebrated her achievement and reminded her of her potential instead of allowing financial differences to affect their relationship.

“My husband’s highest pay at that time for a role was 100k, and I was going to earn more than him, but he prayed for me from his heart and reminded me how great I am,” she added.

The reaction has drawn attention because it highlights the importance of emotional support and partnership in personal and professional growth.

Both actors have continued to build successful careers in Nollywood, with their relationship often attracting admiration from fans who appreciate their public displays of mutual respect and encouragement.
