Speaking in a recent interview with Channels TV, the veteran activist and entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, addressed the renaming of the Charly Boy bus-stop in Lagos, brushing off the controversy.

“Whether you name it Charly Boy or Olamide Baddo… it’s neither here nor there. Anybody who has done something for their community can take the shine. It doesn’t matter to me,” he said.

Instead, Charly Boy emphasized the urgent need for citizens to prepare for the 2027 general elections, questioning whether votes will truly count this time around.
