Chidimma Adetshina reveals she missed BBNaija 2025 because her Miss Universe Nigeria title prevented her from joining the reality show

LAGOS, Nigeria, 26 November 2025 — Former Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has explained why she could not participate in the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), despite publicly expressing interest months before the show began.

In August 2024, Adetshina had announced her excitement about joining the 10th season of the reality show. However, she was absent when the programme premiered and later concluded in October, with Imisi winning the N80 million grand prize and a new SUV.

In a video shared on her X page, Adetshina revealed that her manager prevented her from entering the BBNaija house because she was still holding the Miss Universe Nigeria crown, a title that restricted her from participating in the show.

“I wanted to do it this year, but my manager said I couldn’t because I’m still Miss Universe Nigeria,” she said.

Despite missing the 2025 edition, Adetshina confirmed her intention to join BBNaija in 2026. She also reflected fondly on her time in Nigeria, describing her eight-month stay as filled with memorable experiences and opportunities.

“I really enjoyed my stay in Nigeria. Once I get my documents sorted, I’m going back. Nigeria was great for me. I feel there is more to explore; there are so many opportunities,” she added.

Adetshina had previously announced in November 2024 that she would be taking a break from pageantry to focus on her education, modelling, and acting career.
