BBNaija’s Cross Alleges Beggar Robbed Him in Lagos

BBNaija star Cross alleges that a street beggar robbed him after taking an item from his car in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos, before fleeing the scene

Big Brother Naija reality star Cross Okonkwo has alleged that he was robbed by a street beggar in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos, after a man approached his car and allegedly took an item before fleeing.

Cross made the allegation in a video shared on social media on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, saying several beggars had approached his vehicle while he was in the Lagos neighbourhood.

According to the reality star, one of the men reached into his car and allegedly removed an item before running away.

“Federal government, I just got robbed. All these beggars, they were in my window talking to me. I did not refuse the guy and he just ripped off something from my car and ran away,” Cross said.

Cross said he attempted to pursue the alleged robber but was unable to catch him after the man fled from the area.

The incident prompted the BBNaija star to raise broader concerns about street begging and public safety in Lagos.

“Nigeria is not safe. Federal government, what kind of mistake are you guys doing allowing these guys on the street?” he said.

Cross also questioned the presence of street beggars around Lagos, particularly in areas where motorists and residents frequently encounter them.

“This Lagos, I don’t understand why you guys are allowing these people to be on the street. This is unfair,” he added.

The allegation has not been independently verified, and there was no immediate statement from the Lagos State Government or the police regarding the reported incident.

Cross’s account nevertheless highlights concerns sometimes raised by motorists about unsolicited approaches at traffic points and the security risks that can arise around vehicles.

The reality star’s comments come as authorities continue to face questions over public safety, street trading and begging in parts of Lagos.
