Davido and Wizkid fans call for peace after a viral video showed Davido vibing to Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’ at Zlatan’s wedding in Lagos

Nigerian music fans have renewed calls for reconciliation between Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid after a video showed Davido singing and dancing to Wizkid’s hit song ‘Ojuelegba’ at fellow singer Zlatan Ibile’s wedding in Lagos State over the weekend.

The viral clip, which circulated on social media, showed Davido enjoying the song despite the long-running rivalry between the two music stars. The moment prompted fans to express hope that the singers could put their differences aside and work together in the future.

The pair have been at the centre of a publicised rivalry for more than a decade, fuelled by online exchanges, debates over musical success and competition between their respective fan bases, Wizkid FC and Davido’s 30 Billion Gang, popularly known as 30BG.

Reacting to the video on X, several users urged both artistes to end the feud, while others questioned whether their rivalry was as serious as it appeared online.

One fan, @Beejay_0822, wrote, “Make dem settle this beef abeg make dem give us better Gbedu abeg.”

Another user, @MustyFelix7, said, “I wish they settle their beef.”

A third commenter, @Amadi96123697, suggested that the disagreement might be exaggerated by their supporters, writing, “This men no really get issues na una wey be fans dey stress una selves.”

Similarly, @13Kobrex questioned whether the rivalry was genuine, saying, “My mind dey tell me say their beef na script aswr.”

Another fan, @idarajune, expressed hope that the singers would reconcile, adding that the mutual admiration they once showed for each other had been beautiful to see.

A supporter identified as @ShegunChelsea also urged the musicians to reunite while they were still active in the industry, saying fans deserved an opportunity to enjoy their music together before they retired.

Meanwhile, @HuseinWiz, who identified as a Wizkid FC supporter, called for an end to the hostility, writing that there should no longer be hatred towards Davido.

Although the wedding video triggered fresh speculation about the relationship between the two stars, Davido’s decision to enjoy ‘Ojuelegba’ does not, on its own, confirm that the pair have resolved their differences.

Neither singer was reported to have announced a reconciliation following the clip.

For many fans, however, the moment has renewed hopes of a possible end to one of Afrobeats’ most talked-about rivalries, with some looking forward to the possibility of the two stars collaborating on music in the future.
