DJ Pretty Play Record DJ Marathon attempt hits 288 hours in Lagos, surpassing current mark pending Guinness verification

Nigerian disc jockey Princess Ntuk, popularly known as DJ Pretty Play, has completed a 288 hour marathon DJ set in Lagos in a bid to set a new world record for the longest club DJing session.

Princess Ntuk began the DJ Pretty Play Record DJ Marathon attempt on 11 March at Bay Lounge in Lekki and reached the target on Monday, marking the end of an intense and highly demanding performance that drew widespread attention.

Ahead of the attempt, Princess Ntuk described the challenge as a powerful mission to push beyond personal and professional limits while demonstrating discipline and resilience.

“I step out with one mission, to push beyond limits and attempt history. This is more than a challenge, it is about discipline, passion, and proving that with determination, anything is possible,” Princess Ntuk wrote.

The marathon attracted notable support from celebrities, including Anita Joseph, Charles Okocha, Ini Edo, as well as musicians D’banj and Slimcase, who appeared at intervals to encourage the DJ during the lengthy session.

The latest feat follows an earlier attempt that began on 3 March but was halted on the third day after a rule breach.

According to Guinness World Records guidelines, songs must not be repeated within a four hour window, and Princess Ntuk confirmed that a violation led to disqualification.

“It is rather unfortunate that I have to restart my 288 hour DJing attempt. According to GWR guidelines, you cannot repeat a song within four hours, and it means instant disqualification,” Princess Ntuk said at the time.

Despite that setback, Princess Ntuk returned with renewed focus and completed the full duration, positioning the DJ Pretty Play Record DJ Marathon attempt as a potential record-breaking achievement.

The performance now awaits official verification from Guinness World Records, which requires comprehensive evidence, including continuous video recordings, witness documentation, and detailed time logs before confirming any new record.

The current record stands at 244 hours and two minutes, set by Faber Moreira in May 2024. If confirmed, Princess Ntuk’s 288 hour performance would surpass that mark and establish a new global benchmark.
