Edo Carnival 2025 celebration to spotlight heritage and creativity from December 21–27 with cultural parades, fashion shows, concerts, and festive highlights
Edo State is set to become the epicentre of cultural celebration this December as it unveils Edo Carnival 2025, themed “Illuminating Heritage, Celebrating Today.”

The week-long festival promises a dazzling mix of tradition and contemporary entertainment, making it one of the most anticipated cultural events in Nigeria.
Organised by Peak Rendezvous Global Limited in partnership with the Office of the Special Adviser on Protocol to the Edo State Governor, the festival aims to celebrate Edo’s rich cultural identity while spotlighting its modern talent and innovation.
The celebration begins in November with the Dreamalive Talent Quest, a music talent competition set to scout fresh voices from across Edo’s three senatorial districts. Winners will go on to perform at the festival’s grand finale.
In the build-up to the main event, the Shine Beer Barn and Christmas Grotto will open on December 14 in Benin City.
This festive hub will feature comedy nights, live music, themed beer tastings, and holiday vibes — a perfect prelude to the core festivities.
From December 21 to , the heart of the Edo Carnival 2025 celebration begins, with daily cultural showcases, parades, music, fashion, art, and food taking centre stage.
The festival will kick off with a colourful Heritage Carnival, featuring masquerade displays, traditional dances, musical theatre, and community-led performances in various locations across the state.
Edo Carnival 2025 is not just a festival, it’s a movement — celebrating where we come from and where we’re going.
One of the major highlights will be the Cultural Fiesta and Food Festival on December 23 at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, where all 18 local government areas will parade their unique flavours, fashion, crafts, and cultures.
A palm wine tasting corner and cooking competitions will add a delicious twist.
Christmas Eve brings the Shine Boat Regatta, planned for the Ogba River or another iconic waterway, where visitors will witness colourfully adorned boats, marine-themed fashion, and cultural rites.
On Christmas Day, Through the Eyes of Edo will take place on Igun Street, celebrating Edo’s historic bronze casting and artistry through exhibitions and interactive installations.
The glamour continues on December 26 with the Miss Shinefest Beauty and Fashion Night, featuring 18 contestants and a fashion runway headlined by local designers inspired by “Ancestral Futurism.”
The festival concludes on December 27 with the Grand Shine Concert in Benin City, headlined by stars like Shalipopi, HammerBoi, and finalists from the Dreamalive Talent Quest.
Fireworks, LED stage lights, and surprise guest artists will cap off the carnival in grand style.
