Faithia Williams denies ex label for Saidi Balogun in a viral interview, sparking reactions over their close post-divorce relationship
Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has stirred widespread reactions after insisting during a recent interview that she does not regard filmmaker Saidi Balogun as her ex-husband.
The actress made the remark during a light-hearted but viral exchange with content creator Isbae U, where she reacted sharply after being asked about reconciliation with Balogun.
When asked why she went back to her “ex”, Williams immediately dismissed the question, saying Balogun does not fall under that description.
“You’re a big fool. Who told you he’s my ex? It’s good, I will tell him when I get home,” she said, prompting laughter and shock from those present.
The moment escalated further when Isbae U jokingly suggested that Balogun was “at home”, a remark that quickly went viral after being shared online.
Faithia Williams denies ex label at a time when public interest in her relationship with Balogun has continued to grow due to their visible closeness despite their divorce.
The former couple, who divorced after years of marriage, have recently been seen attending family and industry events together, including a film premiere where they appeared in coordinated outfits alongside one of their sons.
At the premiere, Balogun publicly congratulated Williams, praising her work ethic and expressing pride in her achievements, while Williams also described him as a veteran powerhouse and respected figure in Nollywood.
Their relationship, once marked by a highly publicised and acrimonious split, appears to have evolved into a more cordial dynamic in recent years, with both parties exchanging birthday messages and attending family gatherings together.
In earlier years, their divorce involved legal disagreements, including Balogun’s request for Williams to drop his surname following their separation. However, recent public appearances have suggested a softening of tensions.
Industry observers note that the pair’s renewed friendliness has become a talking point within Nollywood, particularly as they continue to support each other professionally and personally.
The latest viral interview has further fuelled speculation about the nature of their relationship, though both have consistently maintained a cooperative and respectful public stance.
