Adebayo’s intervention followed criticism from a social media user regarding the movie’s production quality. He stressed that filmmaking is a team effort involving directors, writers, crew, and actors.

“I’ve noticed one or two tweets about my brother’s movie. Posting comments from behind a keyboard doesn’t automatically make those opinions accurate. Let’s keep it respectful; filmmaking is teamwork, with directors, writers, crew, and actors all putting in their best,” Adebayo said.

He encouraged audiences to watch ‘Warlord’ in cinemas and form their own judgments, stressing the importance of fairness and consideration in evaluating creative work.

Femi Adebayo’s defence comes as his previous project, ‘Seven Doors’, achieved recognition at the 2025 Best of Nollywood awards.

He praised Odunlade Adekola for his dedication to the craft and highlighted teamwork as essential to producing high-quality films.
