Foluke Daramola made the remarks during a recent appearance on the African A-List podcast, where she offered candid insights into her marriage and the dynamic she shares with Kayode Salako.

The actress described Kayode Salako as the “definition of peace,” emphasising the unusual level of freedom she enjoys in the union.

Foluke Daramola said her husband places no restrictions on her personal choices, even suggesting he would support her decision to travel abroad for an extended period without hesitation.

“I don’t feel like I’m married. My husband is the definition of peace for me,” Foluke Daramola said.

“If I tell Kayode now that I will be going to Canada tonight and will spend up to a year there, he will say bye-bye. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love me; he just feels like he shouldn’t cage me.”

The Foluke Daramola marriage, which began in 2010, has often drawn public attention for its unconventional nature.

The actress described her husband not only as a spouse but as her “very good friend” and “greatest cheerleader,” noting that disagreements are typically short-lived.

“When we fight, you would think that the marriage is going to end, but give us two hours, and everything will be settled,” she added.

The remarks come amid lingering public interest following Kayode Salako’s confirmation two years ago that he had married another woman, Oluwafunke Oyegoke-Salako, while still being married to Foluke Daramola.

At the time, Kayode Salako defended the decision, citing the absence of a biological child after 13 years of marriage.
