Ghetts admits killing young Nepali student in London hit-and-run collision; sentencing set for 12 February 2026

British rapper and actor Justin Clarke-Samuel, professionally known as Ghetts, has admitted causing the death of a young man, Mr. Tamang, in a hit-and-run collision in Ilford, north-east London.

The fatal incident occurred on 18 October when Ghetts was reportedly driving at over 60mph in a 30mph zone.

Mr. Tamang, a Nepali student and the only child of his parents, was crossing the road when he was struck. Ghetts failed to stop at the scene, prompting public outrage and a police investigation.

Ghetts pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and is scheduled to be sentenced on 12 February 2026.

The case has drawn significant attention due to Ghetts’ public profile as a musician and actor.

Police and legal authorities have emphasised the seriousness of speeding and reckless driving, highlighting the fatal consequences that can result even in short urban stretches.
