The announcement was made on Wednesday as part of YouTube’s 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review, highlighting the country’s most-watched music videos and top content creators.

The statement was signed by Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Gaise Baba’s hit video, “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, released on 16 May, amassed over 41 million views within six months, earning more than 396,000 likes and 22,000 comments.

In the creators’ category, actress Omoni Oboli led the rankings with her channel, Omoni Oboli TV, followed by filmmakers, comedians, and content houses across Nigeria.

The full list of most-watched music videos showed strong competition from Afrobeats artists, including Shallipopi with “Laho”, Davido featuring Omah Lay on “With You”, and collaborative hits such as Olamide x Seyi Vibez x Asake x Young John – “99” ft. Daecolm.

The data underscores a growing trend of gospel and inspirational content commanding significant digital engagement in Nigeria, even amid the dominance of mainstream Afrobeats.
