Governor Adeleke travels to the U.S. for nephew Davido’s wedding, as his spokesperson confirms the trip and assures it won’t disrupt state duties

Governor Adeleke has travelled to the United States to attend the much-anticipated white wedding of his nephew and global music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The wedding ceremony between Davido and his longtime partner, Chioma Avril Rowland, is scheduled to take place in Miami, Florida, this August.

The news was confirmed in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, who addressed concerns raised by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) over Adeleke’s absence from Osun State.

“Governor Adeleke left Nigeria for the United States via the family’s private jet a few days ago for the wedding of the global music icon, his beloved nephew,” Rasheed stated.

He also invited opposition members to join in the celebration, either in person or virtually.

The spokesperson emphasized that since assuming office in November 2022, Governor Adeleke has not taken any official vacation and added that the current trip is deliberately brief to allow him to resume state duties promptly.

“The Governor is in constant communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is supervising government operations in his absence,” the statement concluded.

Governor Adeleke’s presence at the wedding underlines the close family ties within the Adeleke dynasty, even as political tensions simmer at home.
