Christiana Aneke, who studied with Ifunanya, recounted the gifts a wristwatch and a red muffler given during their Faculty Week for freshers. Sharing a photo of herself wearing the items, Aneke expressed her grief: “Ah Ifu, if anyone had told me 10 years later I’d be making this post for you, I would have slapped that person 😭.”

She also fondly recalled a personal moment, when Ifunanya told her: “Even if I’m still sleeping, I know when you’ve woken up,” highlighting the singer’s gentle nature.

Aneke lamented the circumstances of Ifunanya’s death, criticizing the lack of immediate medical attention and scarcity of snake antivenom in Nigerian hospitals: “What the heck are snakes doing in someone’s apartment? And to think she wasn’t attended to immediately… Abuja for that matter.”
