Iyabo Ojo renews legal threat against Lizzy Anjorin

Iyabo Ojo vows fresh legal action against Lizzy Anjorin over alleged defamation and family threats, reigniting Nollywood’s most bitter celebrity feud.

Iyabo Ojo legal threat has resurfaced as the Nollywood actress vowed to initiate fresh legal proceedings against her colleague Lizzy Anjorin, accusing her of making defamatory remarks and issuing curses and threats directed at her family.

Ojo, who had previously filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin, saw her case struck out by a Lagos State High Court earlier this year due to procedural issues.

The court also ordered her lawyer to pay ₦500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s legal team.

Despite the setback, Ojo took to Instagram on Monday to confirm that her legal team had resumed action, collecting evidence of ongoing verbal attacks and online harassment.

“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she wrote.

Ojo stated she had remained silent out of legal prudence but was deeply concerned about Anjorin’s verbal attacks, which included curses and even death wishes aimed at her family, especially her newborn grandson.

“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking,” she added.

The long-running feud between both actresses has played out over social media, live streams and parody skits, drawing widespread attention and escalating tensions within Nollywood circles.

While Ojo admitted that some of the parody content amused her, she made it clear that the emotional toll on her family had become intolerable.

The actress recently welcomed her first grandchild and said her energy had been focused on supporting her daughter, Priscilla, during the transition.

However, she hinted that with her return to Lagos, she would pursue firmer legal action.

The rift intensified after a fire incident at Ojo’s Lagos office, which her daughter linked to threats received via a letter in May suggesting they were being watched.

Ojo alleged that if anything happened to her or her family, Anjorin should be held responsible.

Their feud, which reportedly began over political affiliations, has since ballooned into one of Nollywood’s most dramatic public fallouts, involving police petitions, lawsuits, and sustained social media exchanges.
