A portion of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo’s office complex was destroyed by fire on the evening of Tuesday, 8 July 2025.
The incident, which reportedly occurred around 7pm, left sections of the property in ruins.
In a video posted on Instagram, the actress showed the extent of the damage. Charred walls, blackened interiors and burnt office equipment were visible as evidence of the blaze.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Iyabo Ojo confirmed that all staff present at the time were safe.
Emergency responders from the Nigerian Fire Service arrived quickly and worked alongside her team to contain the inferno.
“This just happened today, the 8th of July 2025, around 7pm. My office building caught fire,” Ojo shared in an emotional post on Instagram.
“Thank you to the Nigerian Fire Service and my staff for salvaging what was left. The devil tested us today but God said no. With God on my side, we will bounce back bigger and better.”
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of filing this report. Officials have yet to issue a formal statement on the possible trigger.
Eyewitnesses say that smoke began billowing from the rear wing of the building, prompting staff and neighbours to call for help.
Before firefighters arrived, Iyabo’s staff reportedly used fire extinguishers and buckets of water to slow the spread.
