The Nollywood actress, popularly known as Toyo Baby from the hit comedy series Jenifa’s Diary, made the statements in a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday night.

The 30-year-old content creator and speaker expressed shock at the confessions she has heard from young people during her interactions, especially teenagers. According to her, the rising trend of sexually active minors is both heartbreaking and spiritually dangerous.

“Whilst some people would say, enjoy your life while you’re young, make all the mistakes you want now, I don’t think that includes sexu\@lly,” Olayode wrote, using censored language in her post to express the sensitivity of the issue.

The actress, who is also an advocate for sexual purity, criticised the widely held belief that mistakes are part of growing up — particularly when it involves sexual experimentation.

She warned that such freedom, especially without guidance, could result in devastating consequences for the next generation.

“Sex and other sexual activities is for MARRIED people,” she added emphatically. “I can write an epistle about this.”

Olayode also described sex as not merely a pleasurable or physical activity but as a deeply spiritual act. She lamented the lack of awareness and conversations around the spiritual implications of sex — especially among teenagers who are being heavily influenced by social media trends, peer pressure, and online content promoting casual intimacy.

“The sex drive amongst teenagers these days is alarming,” she said. “It often breaks my heart and keeps me wondering — who lied to them?”

She went on to share that her upbringing played a crucial role in shaping her personal values and decisions. Citing her mother’s strong moral teachings, Olayode said those early lessons continue to echo in her mind, helping her set boundaries even as an adult.

“There are certain things I still cannot do now. I keep hearing my mother’s voice in my head,” she said. “If we are not more intentional about the way we raise our children, we would not be happy about the kind of adults this generation would produce.”

Referring to Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” — Olayode called on parents and guardians to take their roles more seriously.

She warned that too much freedom and lack of supervision could lead to the moral erosion of society.

In a strong critique of adult behaviour on social media, the actress urged people to stop liking and engaging with inappropriate content involving minors or promoting immoral behaviour. She pointed out that engagement on such posts, even if passive, equates to endorsement.

“Incase you don’t know,” she noted, “your like or comment in any post is another way of saying, ‘I approve of this’ or ‘I support this’.”

Her post sparked a wave of responses across Instagram, with many praising her for speaking boldly on an issue many have avoided. Others echoed her concerns, especially about the cultural shift and rising exposure of teens to content deemed inappropriate for their age.
