Mercy Aigbe praised for integrity in a recent interview by her husband and marketer Kazim Adeoti, who recalled the early days of their professional relationship and the moment he knew she was different from the rest.

Speaking to Oyinmomo TV, Adeoti shared how he met Mercy Aigbe during a film production in 2011. She had starred in Hajia Jemila, a movie he sponsored, and their interaction on set left a lasting impression on him.

After she received her payment for the role, Adeoti said he expected the usual complaints common in the industry. Instead, Mercy returned to inform him that he had overpaid her. This simple act, he said, showed a rare kind of honesty.

“What I really admire about her is her honesty and straightforwardness; it’s something I truly respect,” he said during the interview.

“After I paid her, I was already used to people complaining that the fee was too small. But in her case, she actually came back to tell me there was leftover money. I was genuinely shocked.”

He revealed that many had warned him to only work with men if he wanted to thrive in the film business. However, Mercy’s transparency changed that mindset.

Her sincerity, coupled with her talent and professionalism, convinced him to keep working with her.

That work relationship gradually grew into something more personal. Despite industry bias and public scrutiny, their collaboration continued, building both careers and eventually leading to marriage.

Adeoti described her not just as beautiful, but as a woman of substance. He never took the excess money back and viewed that moment as the beginning of something special.
