Mohbad’s Widow Responds to Paternity DNA Dispute

Wunmi, widow of Mohbad, responds to ongoing DNA dispute over son Liam, pledging compliance with court orders for neutral testing

LAGOS, Nigeria, 5 December 2025: Wunmi, widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has issued a statement regarding the ongoing legal dispute over the paternity of her son, Liam.

The matter has drawn significant public attention following repeated requests by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, for a DNA test to confirm Liam’s biological parentage.

Wunmi, through her legal team on Instagram, countered claims that she was delaying the process, stating that her father-in-law had been “shifting the goalpost” and causing repeated delays.

She said that during the court session on Wednesday, Joseph Aloba requested that the DNA test be conducted in two hospitals of his choice.

The judge reportedly struck out the application, ruling that the test must be conducted in neutral medical facilities where neither party has a vested interest.

Wunmi affirmed her willingness to comply with the court’s directive, stressing the importance of fairness and adherence to proper legal procedure.
