He thanked fans and colleagues for their love and support throughout his journey. “For the past 5 years, I’ve dedicated myself to creating skits using laughter, storytelling, and real-life moments to entertain,” he wrote. “This journey has been nothing short of amazing.”

The entertainer rose to fame by mimicking Davido and later developed into one of Nigeria’s most popular online comedians.

In his farewell note, he explained that his decision to quit was driven by self-reflection and prayer. “After a lot of reflection and prayer, I have decided to quit skit making. It’s time to grow as an artist.”

His transition comes as no surprise to fans, who have seen him gain ground in music with songs like Umbrella and Lover Boy. For many, this marks a bold shift rather than a goodbye.

Still, Nasboi’s decision drew mixed reactions, especially after a public spat with fellow comedian Sabinus in June. What began as friendly banter turned tense when Sabinus told Nasboi to “stay in his lane”. In a sharp response, Nasboi mocked Sabinus’s style, saying his jokes always ended sadly.

When Sabinus questioned Nasboi’s shift to music, the comedian-turned-singer fired back. He challenged Sabinus to make his own song and offered ₦1 million if he could manage more than just an intro and outro.
