Kira, daughter of late Yoruba actor Ogogo, has shared an emotional tribute to her father on Thursday, September 3, 2026, weeks after his death following a brief battle with cancer.

The actress’s daughter posted a touching video of herself sharing a playful moment with her father at a party, using the memory to express the deep pain she has experienced since his passing.

In the video, Kira could be heard playfully asking her father for a kiss on the cheek, creating a tender moment that has since taken on a more painful meaning following his death.

Kira admitted that accepting her father’s absence has been difficult, particularly because she can no longer receive the hugs she cherished.

“My daddy. The best, I can’t even get a hug anymore. Sometimes I 8 you for leaving me…. I don’t know, jare. This is what heartbreak means, mehn,” she wrote.

The late actor’s daughter also revealed the one thing she wished she had been given more time to experience with her father.

“I love you, daddy, but I just wanted more time, more time, more timeeee to meet my second baby. Thank you ooo TAIYE,” she added.

The revelation has made her tribute particularly poignant, as Kira is expecting her second child and had hoped her father would be alive to meet the baby.

Ogogo died after a brief illness linked to cancer. His eight-day Fidau prayer was held on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Ilaro, Ogun State.

Since his death, members of his family, friends, colleagues and admirers have continued to honour his memory and reflect on his contribution to Yoruba entertainment.

Kira’s latest tribute has also drawn an outpouring of sympathy from her followers, with many encouraging her to remain strong while remembering the special relationship she shared with her father.

One follower, Bidemi Kosoko, wrote: “Kira God will give you all the strength you need in Jesus name.”

Another commenter noted that Kira bears a strong resemblance to her late father, writing: “Whenever you miss your daddy, just stay in front of the mirror, you are simply daddy’s carbon copy!”

Another follower described Ogogo as a father who “lived the life most of us envisioned with our fathers”, while praying for his continued rest.
