Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Olaide Olabanji alleged that he played a key role in supporting Mercy Aigbe during the early stages of her career. Olaide Olabanji expressed disappointment, claiming the actress now treats him with hostility.

Olaide Olabanji further made a startling claim that Mercy Aigbe wishes him dead. The actor stated that he noticed a pattern in her behaviour, alleging that she appears visibly unhappy whenever she sees his image.

Beyond the allegations, Olaide Olabanji also spoke about his working relationship with filmmaker Femi Adebayo, explaining how he was cast in the film Agesinkole.
