Born on May 1, 2000, into the family of the late Justice Ikubor, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Rema’s achievements this year have solidified his status as Entertainer of the Year.

The 25-year-old pop star’s sophomore album, HEIS, earned critical acclaim and multiple awards, including Album of the Year at the 2025 Trace Awards and Afrobeats Album of the Year at the 17th Headies Awards.

His track “Ozeba” also won Producer of the Year, showcasing his versatility and creative prowess.

Rema’s 2023 hit single, “Calm Down,” from his album Raves & Roses, continued to gain traction globally in 2025, surpassing one billion streams twice and reinforcing his international appeal.

His 2025 release, “Baby,” became the most exported Nigerian song of the year, cementing his global influence.

In September 2025, Rema was named to the TIME100 Next list, recognising the world’s most influential rising stars across music, film, sports, politics, science, and philanthropy.

He was the only Nigerian artist featured, joining the ranks of international prodigies such as footballer Lamine Yamal.

Streaming metrics underscore Rema’s dominance.

In 2025 alone, he averaged 3.7 million Spotify streams per day, surpassing 800 million streams for the year.
