Rema Dismisses Davido Feud as Fan Rumour

Rema says a Rema Davido feud is only rumour, telling Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez that he still respects Davido as one of the OGs

Divine Ikubor, the Afrobeats singer known as Rema, has dismissed talk of a Rema Davido feud, telling Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez that he has no quarrel with David Adeleke, the singer known as Davido.

The comments came in a Saturday interview and were widely reported on Monday, 21 September 2026.

Rema said the claims were false and that he still looks up to older Nigerian stars.

“Davido and I have no issues; those are just rumours. I have so much respect for the OGs,” he said.

He argued that listeners, not the two men, often start the trouble by lining artists against one another until a comparison hardens into a supposed rivalry.

“Fans are always the ones starting things. I used to caution my fans, but sometimes the other artiste enjoys the comparisons and doesn’t do the same, so I stopped,” Rema said.

That last line was the most pointed part of the answer. Rema did not name Davido as the artist who enjoys the contest.

He did say he had given up policing his own supporters once he felt the courtesy was not returned.

David Adeleke has not, in the immediate coverage of the interview, issued a matching public reply.

The rumour mill around the two has been familiar terrain in Afrobeats, where chart places, streaming numbers and fan armies are treated as a scoreboard.

Rema’s account tries to separate personal respect from that online noise.

Whether the caution holds will depend less on one radio interview than on what both fan bases do next.
