Rev Kesiena Blasts Ebuka Songs Over Livestream With Peller

Rev Kesiena Esiri Henry calls out gospel singer Ebuka Songs for appearing on a livestream with TikTok star Peller, accusing them of mocking tongues and prophecy

Controversial Nigerian clergyman, Rev Kesiena Esiri Henry, has stirred debate online after calling out gospel singer Ebuka Songs for participating in a joint livestream session with TikTok star and online personality, Peller.

In a sermon delivered shortly after the livestream, Rev Kesiena strongly condemned the session, describing it as a mockery of God, spiritual gifts, and particularly the sacred Christian practice of speaking in tongues.

Ebuka Songs and Peller, alongside a few other individuals, had gone live just two days prior in what they described as a prayer and gospel worship session.

However, the tone of the broadcast and Peller’s past comedic content didn’t sit well with the reverend, who saw the act as blasphemous.

“How can you explain to me that somebody who says he sings for God, he ministers unto Elohim—we saw him on a video with one clown mocking tongues, mocking prophecy,” Rev Kesiena said during his church sermon, clearly referring to Peller.

The pastor didn’t mince words, labeling Peller as a “clown” and accusing Ebuka Songs of compromising the sanctity of gospel music by associating with a social media figure known for controversial comedy skits.

This isn’t the first time Peller, a former Muslim who converted to Christianity, has sparked religious discussions.

He previously trended after sharing his conversion story and his struggles in academia, drawing both sympathy and skepticism from netizens.

While Ebuka Songs has yet to respond publicly, the backlash has prompted renewed discussions on the blurred lines between gospel ministry and social media influence.

Many online users are now divided: some defend Ebuka’s efforts to reach wider audiences with the gospel, while others agree with Rev Kesiena’s sentiment that sacred practices should not be diluted or turned into entertainment.
