Rita Edochie has strongly criticised Judy Austin, questioning who paid her to destroy May Yul Edochie’s marriage while slamming her for claiming others paid her ex-husband to ruin her own home

Nollywood veteran Rita Edochie has once again come to the defence of her nephew’s estranged wife, May Yul Edochie, sharply criticising Judy Austin in the ongoing family saga.

Reacting on Friday, June 19, 2026, to Judy Austin’s recent claim that people paid her ex-husband, Obasi, to scatter her home, Rita Edochie questioned the irony of the allegation.

“DID I HEAR THEY PAID MR OBASI TO SCATTER HER HOME? PLEASE, WHICH HOME EXACTLY? THE ONE THAT WAS COVETED? THE STOLEN HOME?” she asked. “A HOME BUILT ON ANOTHER WOMAN’S PAIN AND TEARS? A HOME WITH A FOUNDATION OF LIES, DECEIT, AND ADULTERY?”

Rita Edochie expressed deep sadness over what she described as a growing culture of supporting injustice, particularly the trolling of Mr Obasi for speaking out about his pain. She noted that many people have lost their conscience and now applaud wrongdoing for personal gain.

The veteran actress, who has consistently positioned herself as a protector of May Yul Edochie, described the senior Edochie wife’s former home as one that “blossomed in peace, love, and harmony” before Judy’s involvement.

This latest outburst adds to a series of public interventions by Rita Edochie since May and Yul Edochie’s separation.

She has repeatedly described Judy as unfit to give marital or traditional advice and has made it clear that Judy is not recognised as part of the Edochie family.

Rita Edochie’s strong stance has drawn mixed reactions online, with some praising her loyalty to May while others accuse her of fanning the flames of the family drama.
