Ruger Says Fame, Tours Are Hurting His Love Life

Nigerian star Ruger says fame and constant touring have taken a toll on his love life, despite wanting to settle down and spend more time with family.

Afrobeats star Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has revealed that his booming music career and hectic tour schedule are having a negative impact on his love life.

In a candid post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the “Asiwaju” crooner admitted that, despite his desire to settle down, maintaining a relationship has become increasingly difficult due to fame, constant travel, and overwhelming attention from women.

“Being on the road has really affected my love life. It became worse after I went back to my black hair and lowcut ‘coz these girls have been over rushing me,” Ruger wrote.

Ruger expressed a longing for deeper personal connections and more time with family, stating that he feels stretched by the demands of fame.

“Deep down, I really wanna settle down soon. I hardly even see my family ‘coz trust me, I’m the most booked artist in this country. People want to see me on stage around the world. They want that Ruger sauce every month,” he added.

This isn’t the first time the ‘Girlfriend’ hitmaker has hinted at pressure to find love. In a recent social media post, he jokingly revealed that his mother had given him a deadline to bring home a girlfriend before December — a comment that went viral among fans.

Ruger, who rose to stardom under Jonzing World before parting ways with the label earlier this year, has been on a whirlwind global tour promoting his music.
