Saheed Osupa hailed Burna Boy Tribute as a major moment for Fuji music and African culture after Burna named Osupa his GOAT singer on a global stage.

Burna Boy tribute that was celebrated by Saheed Osupa has sent waves across the Nigerian music scene as the legendary Fuji icon expressed heartfelt gratitude to Burna Boy for naming him his “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) singer on an international platform.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) page, King Saheed Osupa — born Akorede Okunola — described the tribute as a “monumental moment that celebrates the soul of Fuji music and its timeless influence.”

Known as Oba Orin (King of Music), Osupa said the recognition not only validates his decades-long career in Fuji but also symbolises a greater victory for Nigerian music and African cultural heritage.

“This shines a brilliant light on our rich cultural heritage,” he wrote, “bridging generations and genres worldwide.”

Burna Boy, who has built a reputation for blending tradition with global sound, referred to Osupa as his GOAT singer during a recent public appearance — a move that surprised many and quickly sparked admiration online.

Osupa responded by calling Burna “a true Afropop titan, the African Giant himself,” applauding him for recognising Fuji’s place in the wider narrative of Nigerian and African music.

“To Oluwa Burna and every music lover embracing our story — thank you for believing in the magic of Fuji. Thank you for believing in Africa’s ingenious creativity,” he added.
