Samklef Reveals How Wizkid’s “Tease Me” Was Created

Samklef reveals how Wizkid’s hit “Tease Me” came to life, sharing inspiration and collaboration details from their first studio session

Music producer Samklef has shared insights into the creation of Wizkid’s hit song “Tease Me,” describing the track’s origins during their very first studio session together.

In a recent video interview, Samklef explained that Wizkid had a clear vision for the song. “He said he wanted an old-school reggae feel, and I wanted something really sweet,” Samklef said.

The producer revealed that inspiration struck immediately. “Something came to my mind and that was how… ‘Baby, I love the way you whine it.’

That was the first verse done,” he recalled, highlighting the chemistry between himself and Wizkid during the session.

However, the second verse presented a challenge. Samklef reached out to fellow artist Banky W for assistance, who readily contributed to completing the track.

“Tease Me” went on to become one of the standout songs from Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar, released in 2011, cementing both the singer’s and producer’s place in Nigerian music history.

Samklef said he was immediately impressed by Wizkid’s energy and creative vision, which made the collaboration particularly memorable.
