Sheggz Denies Bella Financial Claims, Says He Did More

Former Big Brother Naija reality star Sheggz Olusemo has denied claims that he financially depended on his former girlfriend, Bella Okagbue, during their relationship.

Sheggz addressed the controversy in a recent interview, saying the narrative gained traction after his relationship with Bella ended without leading to marriage.

The reality star insisted that he was not financially dependent on Bella and claimed he contributed more to their shared expenses during the relationship.

“I’m not a gigolo. Bella and I split the bills 70-30, and I did the most,” Sheggz said.

He maintained that the public perception of their financial arrangement was unfair and suggested that the failure of their relationship to culminate in marriage influenced how their past was subsequently portrayed.

The comments come after Sheggz and Bella, popularly known as “Sheggz and Bella” or “SheggzBella” among BBNaija fans, became one of the most closely followed couples to emerge from the reality show.

The pair met during the seventh season of Big Brother Naija in 2022 and developed a romantic relationship while in the house. Their relationship continued outside the show and attracted substantial attention from fans.

Their eventual split generated further discussion among followers, particularly because of the expectations surrounding their relationship and repeated speculation about whether they would eventually marry.

Sheggz’s latest comments appear aimed at addressing one aspect of the post-break-up narrative, particularly suggestions that Bella carried the financial burden during their time together.

By insisting that their bills were divided 70-30 and that he “did the most”, the former housemate offered his account of how the financial responsibilities were handled.
