Controversial Nigerian musician and social media figure, Speed Darlington, has strongly denied allegations made against him by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

“This video is for NAPTIP. Pay attention to all that you wanted to post about me. Take it down; I’m not coming. I have not committed any crime. All I did was speak. Irresponsible talk is not a crime,” the rapper declared emphatically.

“You want to use me to collect social media clout. Hey, look at us. We are doing our job. We summoned a celebrity, and he came,” he said mockingly.
“I know the psychology mind crime you want to use for me. 2.5 million is what I charge for an appearance. You are going to pay me 2.5 million, plus round-trip tickets for me and my PA to come. Because I call that appearance.”
The outspoken performer argued that NAPTIP had fallen for internet propaganda, accusing the agency of reacting to the anger of social media users instead of relying on verified facts.

He suggested that his remarks about not being attracted to women in their 30s or 40s had triggered resentment among certain online users, particularly women, leading to mass tagging and false reports.
“All those women that were tagging you guys are a bunch of 30 and 20-somethings who have not found husbands,” he claimed. “Now they’re hating on me because I’m popular and people listen to things I say.”
The Speed Darlington NAPTIP denial also included threats of legal action. He warned that if the agency did not retract its notice, he would sue them for defamation and character damage.
“I will sue you for defamation of character and spoiling my name; you have no evidence,” he stated.
