Actress Stella Damasus has pledged to preserve the legacy of her late husband, Jaiye Aboderin, after accepting a posthumous award on his behalf at the AMAN Awards.

Damasus shared a video of herself and their daughters receiving the accolade, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the recognition.

In an Instagram post, Damasus reflected on her husband’s life and their family, noting pride in their daughters and the enduring impact of Aboderin’s legacy.

“21 years later, and we will continue to keep your legacy alive. I know you’d be so proud of how the girls have turned out.

I give all glory to God because He genuinely gave us two amazing, beautiful, intelligent, and supportive girls. Jaiyejeje Aboderin, we love you forever, and we miss you so much. May his soul continue to rest in peace,” she wrote.

The award comes as a poignant reminder of Aboderin’s contributions and the mark he left on those around him.

Damasus described the emotional journey of losing her husband, saying her heart “stopped” at his passing but resumed for the sake of their daughters, whom she calls a source of joy and pride.

The actress thanked the AMAN Awards for the honour, emphasising that the recognition ensures that Jaiye Aboderin’s life and work continue to inspire others.
