Taking to his X handle, the controversial artist said that much of the negative mindset seen in adulthood stems from limiting words and beliefs absorbed from parents during childhood.

“Our Nigerian parents really do many of us strong thing. The point I’m making is this: when you come under my post saying you’ll never make it that’s not really you speaking, it’s the voice of what you grew up hearing at home,” he explained.

Terry G emphasised how phrases like “you can’t do this” or “you can’t do that” become internalised, trapping many in a cycle of self-doubt and failure.

He urged younger Nigerians to recognise this pattern and consciously break free from it, changing their mindset for better outcomes.

“It’s time to break that cycle. It’s time to change that mindset,” he wrote.
