Timaya has caused a stir after sharing his views on marriage and having children.

In a viral clip, the singer suggested it is better to have children out of wedlock, saying marriage “doesn’t work.”

Timaya, alongside Rudeboy, appeared to be giving marital advice to Phyno in the video.

He stated in pidgin: “Just born pikin, pikin go grow. This marriage thing no dey work.”

The video quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions online.

Many disagreed with his stance, while others defended his perspective on modern relationships.

Timaya is a father of four with three women. His children are Emmanuella and Gracey with Barbara Fumnaya Nwaokolo, Emmanuel with Tamar, and Maya with Dunnie Onasanya.

In a 2024 interview with Naija FM, Timaya explained that he remains unmarried in his 40s because he has never been drawn to marriage but hinted his stance could change in the future.
