Timini Egbuson lost opportunity to appear on Big Brother Africa became a defining moment in his career, the Nollywood actor revealed during a podcast appearance.

Speaking on The Culture League, Egbuson said he was shortlisted to represent Nigeria on the show but was dropped at the last minute, despite being told to prepare for entry.

“I was supposed to be on Big Brother Africa some years ago… They asked us to pack our bags and wait,” he recalled. “I even hired someone to manage my social media.”

Although disappointed, Egbuson believes missing out was the best thing that could have happened to him.

“That was the year I did MTV Shuga, and MTV Shuga is what launched my career to who I am today,” he explained.

The actor reflected on how detours in life can lead to better paths. “Some of those things that I might have gotten would have completely derailed me from where I am today. And I believe that where I am today is where I am ordained by God to be.”

He encouraged listeners not to view every missed opportunity as a failure. “Sometimes, when you lose opportunities, you just have to count it as a blessing, dust your feet and keep on moving. That’s one hard lesson I have learnt.”
