The award-winning artist shared her experience during an appearance on the American radio show Hot 97, where she spoke candidly about the criticism she faced from both fans and public figures.

The Tiwa Savage leaked video backlash, according to the singer, was intensified by accusations that she had intentionally released the footage to gain attention, a claim she strongly denied.

She explained that the incident left her emotionally drained, noting that the judgment she received came even while she was the victim of a privacy breach.

Tiwa Savage stated that some individuals with large platforms contributed to the negative narrative, making the experience even more painful for her.

She also disclosed that she refused attempts at blackmail, insisting that she would not pay to suppress the release of the video.

According to her, the situation made her emotionally detached at times, as she often had to “switch off” to cope with the pressure and public scrutiny.

The singer added that she resorts to music and personal coping mechanisms to manage stress, describing the experience as exhausting and deeply personal.
