The Nigerian Afrobeats queen is set to drop “This One Is Personal” on August 29, marking her first full-length studio album in five years.

The 13-track project dives deep into Savage’s emotional world, telling stories of pain, growth, motherhood, and resilience, and is her first album since 2020’s “Celia.”

Speaking via her X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Tiwa described the album as her “most vulnerable work yet,” explaining her decision to keep features to a minimum.

“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited… It’s less about numbers and more about connection,” she said during a fan Q&A.

Confirmed collaborations include UK rapper Skepta and Nigerian rising star Taves, both described by Savage as “intentional choices who matched the vision.”

The album was recorded in Nashville, London, and Lagos, blending rich global influences with a soulful, stripped-down Afrobeats sound.

Unlike her previous commercially driven projects, This One Is Personal promises a more introspective and emotionally layered listening experience.

Savage also shared that the five-year break allowed her to reconnect with herself, navigate motherhood, and reflect on the pressures of fame.

“So much has changed. I’ve changed,” she told fans. “This is not just an album. It’s a journal.”

Within hours of the announcement, fans ignited a social media firestorm using the hashtag ThisOneIsPersonal, celebrating the return of one of Africa’s most influential female artists.
