Nigerian actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has celebrated the successful UK opening of her film, ‘Oversabi Aunty’, which earned £16,205 in its first weekend.

Abraham expressed gratitude to her UK fans on Instagram, highlighting the overwhelming support. She wrote, “I honestly don’t know how to thank my UK family, this love is beyond huge! Just 3 days of opening weekend in the UK, and you all showed up massively.”

The comedy film, released on 19 December, has been screening in selected Odeon Cinemas across the UK and continues to draw positive reviews from audiences.

Abraham thanked fans for their encouragement, attributing her success to divine blessing and their unwavering support.

“Eshey Modupe. Oversabi Aunty is still showing in selected Odeon Cinemas across the UK. If you haven’t seen it yet, now is the time,” she added.

The strong reception in the UK follows the film’s earlier successes in Nigeria, where it earned impressive box office figures and cemented Abraham’s status as a prominent figure in Nollywood filmmaking.
