U.S. President Donald J. Trump has sharply criticised the Grammy Awards, describing the ceremony as “virtually unwatchable” and one of the “worst” award shows in a post on his Truth Social platform.

The president also targeted broadcaster CBS, claiming the network is “lucky” it no longer airs what he called “garbage.”

Trump’s remarks follow a joke by host Trevor Noah during the ceremony referencing Trump and former President Bill Clinton in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The president denied the implication, describing Noah’s comment as false, defamatory, and “inaccurate.”

“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” Trump wrote.

“I have never been accused by the media of such claims before.”

He further characterised Noah as a “pathetic” and “talentless” host and compared his performance unfavourably to late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

The president hinted that legal action may be forthcoming, referencing past lawsuits against media figures which he described as having “worked out well” for him.

Trump’s latest comments continue a longstanding pattern of clashes between the former president and entertainment personalities who reference him in performances or critique his public record.

His post on Truth Social also reiterated his broader disdain for how the Grammys and CBS portray cultural events.
