The tragic news was shared by Franklin through a heartfelt message on his Instagram page.

In the emotional post, Franklin described his sister as “one of the kindest souls” he has ever known.

He also noted that she played a significant role in shaping the man he has become today.

“Today death visited me and took one of the most precious gifts life ever handed to me, my sister,” he wrote.

“The one who birthed the Ubi Franklin you all know today.”

The passing comes as a heavy blow to the former music executive, who revealed that his sister had been battling cancer for a long time.

He credited her with guiding his path after their father’s death in 2004 and for bringing him to Lagos in 2005—a decision he said changed the course of his life.

“She opened my eyes to what life truly is. I am blessed to call her my sister,” he added.

Franklin also reflected on the painful way he received the news. According to him, he had just boarded a flight to Abuja to see her when she died.

His siblings chose not to tell him immediately. He only learnt of her death hours after landing.

“Man plans, but God disposes,” he wrote.

“Yesterday, I got a call from my siblings. She had been moved to the ICU. I did everything within my power to make it to Abuja. But while I was airborne, in the early hours of today, she passed on.”

The revelation struck a chord with many of his followers, especially as he admitted to being shielded from the truth until late in the day.

She built people without seeking credit. That’s the kind of legacy that lives forever.

“When I landed in Abuja at 4:20 am, she had already passed, but it was hidden from me till 4 pm,” he stated.

Ubi Franklin shared that the impact his sister had on those around her was evident in the tributes paid by friends and loved ones who visited to console the family.

He mentioned that everyone had the same thing to say—she was selfless, kind, and always ready to help.

“And today, as I watched people pour in, all testifying to how kind, selfless, and good she was… I know I am not alone in my grief,” he said.

“This hurts deeply. It has left a scar in my heart. But I will forever love you. And I know… you’re in a better place.”

The outpouring of support on social media has been massive. Fellow celebrities and fans have continued to offer condolences, prayers, and kind words.

Franklin, who has had a rocky journey both professionally and personally, often shares personal reflections with his fans. However, this loss seems to have hit him harder than most.

Many see his tribute not just as an expression of grief but as a touching reminder of the roles siblings play in shaping one’s life path.
