The singer issued the apology in an open letter shared on his social media page, thanking Tiwa Savage for contributing a verse to the proposed remix and acknowledging her wider influence on Nigerian and African music.

Victor AD admitted that he should have addressed the issue much earlier, describing his message as an opportunity to take accountability and express his appreciation for the award-winning singer.

In his letter, he wrote: “I should have done this a long time ago, but it’s never too late to take accountability for my actions.”

He thanked Tiwa Savage for “blessing” the song with a verse, explaining that the remix unfortunately never got released.

Beyond the unreleased collaboration, Victor AD used the message to recognise Tiwa Savage’s contribution to the growth of Afrobeats and her influence on his own musical journey.

He praised her for the doors she had opened for the genre and said he did not take her support or contribution for granted.

“Your impact is undeniable, and I’ll never take your contribution to my journey for granted. I love and appreciate you, Mama,” he wrote.

The message was addressed to Tiwa Savage as “Mama Jam Jam”, a familiar reference to the singer, who is also known for her longstanding presence in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Tiwa Savage responded to Victor AD’s apology, indicating that she held no hard feelings over the matter.

In her reply, she wrote: “I appreciate this. God knows the reason for everything. All love.”

Her response brought a warm tone to the exchange, with both singers publicly acknowledging the situation and their mutual respect.

The apology has also drawn attention to the unreleased collaboration, which would have brought together two prominent names in Nigerian Afrobeats.

Victor AD rose to prominence with ‘Wetin We Gain’, a song that became widely popular for its message about ambition, perseverance and the desire for success.
