Speaking on the Her Next Chapter podcast hosted by Tope Olowoniyan, Waje disclosed that she felt uncomfortable about her physique in her 20s, leading her to take unusual measures to conceal it.

Waje said she often wore multiple bras at once due to insecurity about her upper body. “I used to hide it. In my 20s, I used to wear like three bras,” Waje said, describing the period as emotionally challenging.

The singer explained that her perspective evolved over time, noting that personal growth and self-acceptance helped her overcome those insecurities.

Motherhood, Waje added, played a powerful role in reshaping how she viewed her body and identity.

Waje also credited close friends, including rapper M.I Abaga and dancer Kaffy, for helping her build resilience and develop a thicker skin against negative comments.
