Yul Edochie responds to Pete Edochie’s criticism of his second marriage, emphasising respect for his father while asserting personal choice and independence

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has addressed comments made by his father, veteran actor Pete Edochie, regarding his second marriage to actress Judy Austin, affirming respect for his father while asserting his independence as an adult.

In a video shared on the KAA Truth Podcast, Yul acknowledged that while his father is entitled to his opinions, this does not alter their bond.

“You see that man Pete Edochie I love him. I have a lot of love and respect for him, no matter what he does… if my father says Yul you are a fool, I say yes sir,” he said, adding that at 44 he is old enough to make personal decisions for himself.

Yul also addressed misconceptions about his relationship with his children from his first marriage to May, explaining that he remains in contact and provides support despite restrictions on social media postings due to ongoing court proceedings.

The actor’s candid remarks have sparked a wave of reactions online, with followers praising his balance of filial respect and personal autonomy.
